Situated on the outskirts of Blackburn, the Observatory is a large stand alone building with great access links to nearby towns and villages. Newly refurbished throughout in 2015, there is extensive seating areas for both drinking and dining. A large bar serves the front of the pub, with a separate bar area at the rear along with further seating areas, a darts board and pool table. High standards have been maintained throughout the property. A well maintained beer garden is located to the left & rear of the property, with a large car park alongside. Living accommodation consists of 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, lounge, office and store room. There is also 2 large rooms located in the attic which are currently used for storage purposes.

Offering fresh local produce from the surrounding areas, the Observatory has developed a great reputation for food both locally and further afield. The local hospital staff use the pub regularly, along with other surrounding businesses. A full food offer is served daily along with breakfasts in the mornings and Sunday lunches at the weekend. The pub hosts weddings, Christenings, funerals, birthdays and onsite catering is provided. Live entertainment is provided once a month, along with Karaoke and Physic Nights. Knit & natter is held on Tuesdays and a pool tournament is held once a month. There is also a quiz held on the last Thursday of every month. A live sports offer could be considered and it has proved popular in the past. Current opening hours are: 11.30am -11pm Sunday – Thursday, 11.30am -1am Friday and Saturday. Food service times are: Monday- Thursday 12-2pm & 5-9pm, Friday – Sunday 12-9pm.
